April, a 15-year-old giraffe, gave birth Saturday to her fourth calf. The calf is expected to weigh around 150 pounds and be about six feet tall.
The nation has waited for weeks with bated breath anticipating the calf's arrival. Thousands have watched the live feed from her pen. Giraffe pregnancies last about 15 months, but April's handlers have believed for weeks that she was close to delivering.
