The remaining finalists, who were chosen from 41 submitted applications, are James Tager, the principal at Atlantic High School, in Port Orange, Volusia County; Jeffrey Umbaugh, an administrator with Clay County Schools; and Dr. Gerald Wilson, former superintendent of Worcester County Schools on Maryland.
The position became available when Oliva announced that he would take a job with the Florida Department of Education.
All three candidates will take part in a community meet and greet on Wednesday at the Buddy Taylor Middle cafeteria from 5:30-7:30 p.m. On Thursday, all three will be interviewed by the entire school board and will tour Flagler County and a number of schools.
The interviews will be conducted in Training Room 3 at the Government Services Building and will be streamed on the district website, www.flaglerschools.com.
The candidates will also attend the annual Senior Scholarship ceremony at Flagler Auditorium that night, which begins at 6 p.m.
On Friday, the finalists will be interviewed by each individual school board member in one-on-one sessions.
The school board expects to select the next superintendent on May 2 during a special board meeting.
