JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 26-year-old man was arrested this week in connection with a home invasion robbery at a hotel, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Police said two people who were dating lived in the hotel room. The male victim told police that a female acquaintance came to their room.

The woman went to get something from her car and came back to the room with two people behind her. Police said the male victim recognized one of them by the nickname "Dreads."

The two people rushed to the door, demanding money and the victim's gun, and then pistol-whipped him several times, police said. The male victim had blood on his lip, missing teeth and a swollen cheek, according to the police report.

Police said the female victim, who was sleeping, was awoken by the commotion as the suspects rummaged through the room, stealing items and fleeing the scene with the female acquaintance.

Ronald McQueen was one of the two people with the female acquaintance and was arrested Wednesday after a warrant was served, police said.

McQueen is charged with armed home invasion robbery with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Duval County Jail.
