Lockdown lifted after fight breaks out in front of Sallye B. Mathis Elementary

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sallye B. Mathis Elementary School was placed on code red lockdown for a short period of time Wednesday afternoon after a fight broke out in front of the school in the Ribault neighborhood, according to police and school officials.

It happened about 3:15 p.m. outside the school on Winton Drive, next to Ribault Senior High School in Northwest Jacksonville. 

The lockdown was lifted less than 30 minutes later, Duval County School District officials said. 

It's not yet known who was involved in the fight or whether anyone was injured.
