Body found in Forest View Park near Martin Luther KIng, Jr. Elementary

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found shot to death Saturday in a park on the Northside near Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

The man, who was believed to be in his 20s, was found at about 6:40 a.m. with at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso in Forest View Park near Kenndle Circle, police said.

A witness told police they heard multiple gunshots, then saw several people leaving the park. The witness said some of the people drove away, while others left on foot.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the shooting and if there are any surveillance cameras in the area.
