6 injured in crash of JSO jail transport vehicle

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A vehicle transporting six Jacksonville Sheriff's Office inmates crashed Tuesday morning on University Boulevard South, near the Hart Expressway off-ramp.

Police said a city of Jacksonville work truck was heading south on University at 9:11 a.m. when a northbound car trying to make a left turn struck the truck.

All six inmates, who were buckled in, were taken to UF Health Jacksonville with what were described as very minor injuries. The driver of the truck and the car were not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
