JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman was shot in the leg Saturday in the Durkeeville neighborhood, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Officers responded at about 6 p.m. to a shooting on Steele Street near Myrtle Avenue North and found a woman who had a single gunshot wound to the leg.

The shooter, described by the Sheriff's Office as a black male, wearing a white tank top and shorts, left before officers arrived. Police said they searched the area for the shooter, but they were unable to find him.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department were called to the scene to treat the woman.
Police said they believe the shooter knows the woman and she was the only target.
Authorities have not released the name of the woman.
