JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man is in critical condition on Thursday after falling from the roof of Southern Lumber on East Lane Circle on the city’s Westside, the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department said.
At about 11:17 a.m., the man fell nearly 20 feet from the roof while working, officials said. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Officials have not released the man’s identity, but the lumber yard owner said he is a contract worker who was cleaning the gutters and fell through the roof onto a boat.
