MIDDLEBURG, Fla. – A 46-year-old man was arrested Friday morning in Middleburg after a woman said he raped her in her sleep, the Clay County Sheriff's Office said.
Michael Sherman is charged with sexual battery on a physically helpless person. According to the report, he and the woman who accused him are strangers.

The woman, whose name is not being released, told deputies on June 16 that she woke up about 1:30 a.m. with Sherman on top of her, raping her. When he realized she was awake, he ran away, deputies said.
Sherman was arrested at his workplace and is being held on $100,003 bond in the Clay County Jail.
The arrest warrant did not indicate how deputies connected Sherman to the crime.
