Woman settles lawsuit with matchmaking service over bad dates

A Pennsylvania woman who paid $150,000 for a "CEO Level" membership to a dating service settled a lawsuit against the company after she says she suffered a series of bad dates, according to The New York Times.

Darlene Daggett, a 62-year-old divorced mother of four, and the former president for U.S. commerce for the West Chester-based home shopping channel QVC, said Kelleher International set her up with a series of men who were married, mentally unstable and felons.

One match took Daggett on trips to Panama and Costa Rica, and on the same day she came home from Panama, he took his ex on a new trip around the world. Another match was found to be a New York judge who was censured for sleeping with an attorney and disgraced.

Chief executive of Kelleher International and former actress Amber Kelleher-Andrews said in a statement that her company is responsible for thousands of marriages over the years, but sometimes, "It doesn't always work out."
