JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested Saturday after pretending to be a police officer and trying to pull over a driver on Interstate 295, near the exit to Normandy Boulevard, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Mark Shaffer, 31, is charged with impersonating an officer.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Shaffer activated red and blue lights in the front and back of his SUV, and pulled up next to another driver on the interstate. 

The other driver pulled off of the highway and got Shaffer's license plate number before he drove off, police said. 

Shaffer was later tracked down at his home on the Westside, where he was arrested, police said.
