The Nassau County Commission is considering changing an ordinance to standardize the times alcohol can be sold on Sundays.
Currently, resort areas like Amelia Island can start selling alcohol at 7 p.m. Sundays, while restaurants who serve food throughout the county can sell alcohol with food starting a noon. Retail sales at grocery and convenience stores can't begin until 2 p.m.
According to the Fernandina Beach News-Leader, a public hearing will be scheduled in late November before the Board of Commissioners votes on new rules.
