Prominent Jacksonville businessman JB Coxwell dies at 78 No description found
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Prominent Jacksonville business and civic leader and philanthropist John "J.B.” Coxwell died Tuesday morning, a company spokesman said.
Coxwell was 78.
The J.B. Coxwell Contracting spokesman said the company's chairman died at his home surrounded by family.
Longtime, close friend former Jacksonville Mayor Jake Godbold described Coxwell as a guy from a small town who started small and made it big.
Coxwell's company did much of the land clearing for what is now Walt Disney World.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
