5 years since Jordan Davis' death, family chooses to celebrate life

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – This year marks the five year anniversary since teen Jordan Davis was shot and killed by 47-year-old Michael Dunn at a Jacksonville gas station. 

 Davis was shot and killed at a gas station on Nov.23, 2012 and Dunn was convicted in the murder. he is now and is now serving life plus 90 years in prison without the chance for parole.

Jordan Davis' father,  Ron Davis, spoke with "The Morning Show" anchor Vic Micolucci and said "There is a always a place set at the dinner table at Thanksgiving.'' Ron Davis also said said state that we should "celebrate their life.''

The Davis family is working in conjunction with former mayor of Jacksonville, Alvin Brown, to host an event that is being held to celebrate the life and legacy of Jordan Davis. 

The event will be held Friday  from 7 to 11p.m. at Deerwood Bistro on Southside Boulevard, near the gas station where Jordan Davis was shot and killed.
