JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Parking concerns at a Bold Bean Coffee Roasters location in San Marco are causing a law firm and a church to file an appeal against a Planning Commission decision.
Bold Bean was given the go-ahead to serve beer and wine and have outdoor seating in September, but those changes are a cause for parking concerns for Southside Baptist Church and Robert Harris, Esq.
Parking problems are nothing new in the San Marco area but Bold Bean customers that News4Jax spoke to said it’s worth it.
“This place is great. I mean, the service (and) the people who work here are fantastic,” Travis Broome said. “If I was the law firm, I would work out a deal to use that parking lot.”
With more seating outside and beer and wine included on the menu, business at Bold Bean has grown – meaning more cars are parking in the area.
“I understand why the church wouldn't want to have people parking in their place if they don't agree with what the business is doing across the street,” Ty Downs said. “But I don't know if going as far as making an appeal to remove places for people to sit and drink is the route to take care of that.”
Representatives for Southside Baptist Church, Bold Bean and Robert Harris, Esq., were unavailable for comment.
