Deputies arrest man accused of posting threat at Fleming Island High School

Clay County said man left note on front door of school

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Clay County deputies said they have arrested a man who they said left a threatening note on the front door of Fleming Island High School about 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Charles Gene Waxler Jr., 23, of Homestead, Fla. was arrested Monday. No students will be at the school this week as Clay County is on spring break.

Sheriff's Office officials did not release any details about the threat, but sent out surveillance stills showing the man with dark, shoulder-length hair riding a dark-colored mountain bike with red front forks, a black basket on the rear with a red bucket inside the basket.

Deputies said Monday morning they identified the man through tips from the public.

"Thank you to everyone for your assistance and support," the Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page.
