Man killed when he drives car into tree on Moncrief Jacksonville officers arrived to find the victim trapped inside No description found
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A driver died just after midnight Saturday in a single-vehicle crash on Moncrief Road West, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Arriving officers found the vehicle crashed against a tree with the driver trapped inside. Jacksonville Fire Rescue pronounced the victim dead at the scene and traffic homicide responded.
The victim has been identified as James Priester, 57, of Jacksonville.
Traffic homicide detectives have not yet determined what caused the crash.
The driver was the only person in the car. This makes the 146th traffic fatality in Duval County this year, according to JSO.
