JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The U.S Marshals Service said it captured a wanted murder suspect from Meridian, Mississippi, in Jacksonville on Friday.
The marshals said O' Derrick Mosley, 43, surrendered without incident at a home on West 13th Street. A report from WTOK-TV states Mosley was wanted for a fatal shooting outside a Meridian nightclub in late January.
The marshals said Mosley has family in Jacksonville and that's why he came to the city.
"Anytime you have an individual who has committed a felony and flees outside the state, the U.S. Marshals offer its assistance in tracking that individual down," said Meridian Police Chief Benny Dubose.
Mosley appeared in court Monday afternoon for a first appearance hearing on the murder warrant out of Mississippi. It's unclear when he will be extradited back to Meridian.
