Officer hurt in crash on Park Street

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Officers responded to a crash involving a JSO vehicle on Park Street. A young woman was driving on Edgewood Avenue when her vehicle collided with the officer's car Sunday morning

The officer was treated at the hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The woman was treated at the scene by JFRD.

Park Street has a yellow flashing light and authorities are not sure who hit who.

The officer injured in the crash was on duty at the time and has been working that shift for the past three years.

He suffered pain from the seatbelt and airbags but was released from the hospital and is expected to make a complete recovery.

Traffic Homicide is investigating the incident.
