JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A shooting early Monday morning behind a Waffle House in Arlington left an employee of the restaurant injured, police said.
Officers were called just before 2:30 a.m. to the restaurant on Atlantic Boulevard and Brookview Drive. A woman was found with one gunshot wound and was transported to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The shooting took place in the back of the restaurant, where detectives and crime scene investigators could be seen processing the scene.
According to a police report, the woman told officers that three men wearing masks jumped her and demanded money. She was shot in the side and hit in the head.
Residents nearby said they didn’t hear anything and shootings are not common in the area.
