Mermaid class coming to Palm Coast Aquatics Center

PALM COAST, Fla. – Has your daughter or son ever wanted to be a mermaid? One class wants to help make that dream a reality.

Palm Coasts Parks & Recreation announced its first-ever mermaid class for children ages 6-11.

The classes will be taught by a City of Palm Coast Swim Instructor and Lifeguard.

Participants must provide their own tail and will learn proper swimming techniques, fluke splashes and how to correctly care for a mermaid tail.

Children need to know how to swim, float on front and back without assistance, roll from back to front and be comfortable in deep water.

Prerequisites will be tested on May 25 at noon.

The cost is $25 per session.

This class will be held during two summer sessions. Session 1 will be held June 1-29 and session 2 will be held July 6-27. The classes will be held on Saturdays from 4:15-5:15 p.m. at the Palm Coast Aquatics Center.
