JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department crews responded to a marine distress incident in the area of Heckscher Drive and Heritage River Road about a half mile from the Dames Point Bridge.
There are reports of multiple people being ejected from the boat with injuries as the boat hit the rocks.
A witness told News4Jax there were three men and a woman on the boat. They were on their way back to Ft. George before the boat accident. He confirmed seeing bleeding injuries and expressed concern about unmarked rocks during high tide.
No word on what may have caused the boat to crash into the rocks.
