JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people were shot within minutes of each other Monday night in Northwest Jacksonville, police said.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded about 10:30 p.m. to a shooting on Portsmouth Avenue, just off Sibald Road. According to a police report, when officers arrived at a home on Portsmouth Avenue, they found a man who had been shot in the hip while on a porch.
Three minutes later, police were called to another shooting about 4 miles away on New Kings Road. According to an incident report, the location of the second shooting is unknown. Police said the victim showed up in a car at the McDonald's on New Kings Road North, with gunshot wounds to his hand and buttocks.
Both men were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
There is no indication in either report that the incidents are connected.
