1 dies after double shooting at Arlington apartment complex

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One of two people found with gunshot wounds in a car stopped in the middle of University Boulevard North Sunday night has died. Jacksonville police said the two were shot at a nearby Arlington apartment complex.

Police said the car was at the River City Landing complex when the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. The victims made it out of the complex and onto University Boulevard near Jacksonville University, which is where police found the car.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, where one of them died. The second person was described as having life-threatening injuries.

The Sheriff's Office is trying to determine what led up to this shooting and searching for a suspect. Detectives were speaking with potential witnesses and searching for any surveillance video.

Witnesses said they heard multiple gunshots from the apartment complex.
