Employee being praised by community, Publix

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – One Publix employee is being recognized for going above and beyond after helping a customer.

Veance Joseph Pantfoeder, a Fletcher graduate, was spotted helping 90-year-old Eleanor Cass across the street with her groceries.

Pantfoeder told News4Jax Cass was found confused and wandering outside the store last Friday.

He didn't want her to get lost, so he helped her home.

"I've always hung on to- to treat people the way you want to be treated working at Publix and always working with a smile, Pantfoeder told News4Jax. "I would want to come in anywhere and see someone smiling at me and if I needed a way to get home and didn't know where I was I would want someone to help me."

We asked Veance what he thought when he saw the video posted on Facebook with hundreds of comments thanking him for his kindness. He said it was surreal and that he still can't believe it.
