FHP: Bicyclist killed in crash on Normandy Boulevard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A bicyclist was killed Friday evening after colliding with a car on Jacksonville's Westside, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to the FHP report, the driver of a Hyundai Sonata collided with the bicyclist as he rode south on Normandy Boulevard near the intersection of Parrish Cemetery Road.

The crash blocked eastbound lanes of Normandy Boulevard Friday night.

The bicyclist, 58-year-old Tony Chaffin, was transported to UF health where he later died. His family has been notified.

Chaffin was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the car, Clarence Ennis, and his passenger, Ashley Mabrey, were both unharmed. 

The report also showed charges were pending.
