Duval & some neighboring counties now considered ‘medium’ COVID Community Level, down from ‘high’

When the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention released its weekly running count of reported cases of COVID-19 in Florida, Duval County was added to its list of counties now considered a medium COVID-19 Community Level.

A week ago, the CDC outlined a new set of measures for communities where COVID-19 is easing its grip. It announced that people living in counties where COVID is posing a low or medium threat to hospitals threat can stop wearing masks in public indoor setting, by its guidelines.

Other area counties considered medium include: Baker, Clay, Flagler and Nassau.

Area counties that are considered low include: Putnam and St. Johns.

Area counties that are considered high include: Alachua, Bradford, Columbia and Union.
