New York officials make announcement in case for man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO

NEW YORK – Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr. and NYPD Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch made an announcement Tuesday about the man accused of killing the UnitedHealthcare CEO.
Luigi Mangione is the suspect named in the fatal shooting of healthcare executive Brian Thompson in New York.
Investigators in New York and Pennsylvania are working to piece together why Mangione may have diverged from this path to make the violent and radical decision to gun down Thompson in a brazen attack on a Manhattan street.
The killing sparked widespread discussions about corporate greed, unfairness in the medical insurance industry and even inspired folk-hero sentiment toward Thompson’s killer.
