JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Los Angeles businessman said Thursday that the city could have an NFL team as early as 2010, and he identified the Jaguars as one possibility.
A new state-of-the-art stadium is set to be built in Los Angeles.

However, it's not going to be built until the owner of the stadium gets a deal to bring a team there.
John Semcken, a representative for that owner, floated out the most common NFL team names mentioned in talks of moving a team -- St. Louis, Buffalo and Jacksonville.
He said the Jaguars are prime for a move because they can't sell enough tickets.

Semcken went on TV on Thursday and appeared confident a team is coming to Los Angeles.
"I think 50-50 that the team will play in the Rose Bowl or the Coliseum next season," he said. "One hundred percent in 2011. We'll move a team here."
No one from the Jaguars was available for comment late Thursday afternoon.
In the past, team owner Wayne Weaver has said the team is committed to staying in Jacksonville.
If they were to move, it would probably mean Weaver would sell the team, something he has said all along he is not ready to do.
