Florida gas prices are down and holding steady after stabilization efforts from Hurricane Milton took effect across the nation, AAA reported on Monday.

The state average price of gas on Sunday was $3.09 per gallon, which is 16 cents less than this time last year in Florida. Currently, the city with the highest price per gallon in Florida is West Palm Beach-Boca Raton at $3.26, and the lowest is Crestview-Fort Walton Beach at $2.85 per gallon, according to data from AAA.

In Jacksonville, the regular current average was recorded at $3.03.

“Conditions are much improved compared to this time last week, when retailers struggled to keep their gas pumps stocked, due to the spike in demand from Hurricane Milton,” Mark Jenkins, AAA spokesman, said.

AAA Resources for Drivers

AAA is also working to lower how much you pay at the pump. AAA members can enroll in Shell’s Fuel Rewards program to save 30 cents per gallon on their first fill-up and 5 cents per gallon on each trip afterward. Drivers who also download the AAA mobile app will have access to local gas prices to find the best deal in their area.

Other tips to save on gasoline are to limit driving time by combining your errands, pay with cash to avoid a potential extra charge per gallon for using a credit card, avoid aggressive acceleration/speeding, and remove excess weight from your vehicle to improve fuel economy.
