Florida could add a UFC license plate to it’s list of speciliaty tags. Here’s where the money would go

FLORIDA – State Sen. Joe Gruters, R-Sarasota, has proposed a specialty license plate for the Las Vegas-based Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The measure proposed by Gruters, who is chairman of the Republican National Committee, would assist the non-profit UFC Foundation.

Language in the bill (SB 246) would require the foundation to use proceeds from the plate to “support charities and nonprofits in this state that align with the foundation’s mission and goals, such as children’s hospitals, support for first responders and the military, a youth advocacy and mentorship, and to fund the development and operation of youth mentorship programs in partnership with local law enforcement agencies.”

Gruters proposed for consideration during the 2026 regular session that begins Jan. 13.
