Glynn County Police ask for community’s help in investigation after victim of assault last week dies

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – A 72-year-old man injured in an assault on March 24 in Glynn County has died nearly a week later, police announced Monday.

According to the Glynn County Police Department, officers responded to a reported assault around 8:21 p.m. on Abbott Avenue and found Robert Yawn unconscious and injured.

Yawn was taken by Glynn County Fire Rescue to the Southeast Health System Brunswick Campus, but he later died, police said.

“This is now an active homicide investigation,” GCPD posted on Facebook. “We urge the community to come forward if they have any information.”

GCPD said investigators are still working to identify and capture the suspect in the case.
