71-year-old pedestrian critically injured in St. Johns County hit-and-run crash, troopers say

A pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash Sunday morning in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said it happened shortly after 6 a.m. on State Road 16, east of Inman Road.

According to the Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling west on S.R. 16 when it left its lane of travel, entered the right shoulder and collided with a pedestrian. Troopers said the vehicle left the scene of the crash.

The pedestrian, a 71-year-old Daytona Beach man, was critically injured, troopers said.
