1 dead in Alachua County crash, Fire Rescue says

One person died in a crash Saturday afternoon in Alachua County, according to authorities.

The Florida Highway Patrol website shows the deadly crash was reported about 1 p.m. on Northeast County Road 234 near Northeast State Road 26.

According to Alachua County Rescue, a pickup struck a tree, and one occupant died at the scene.

Troopers are investigating.
