Person hospitalized with serious injuries after house fire in Sherwood Forest

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was sent to extinguish a fire Thursday night in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood.

The fire was at a home on Chivalry Drive. According to JFRD, one person was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

A man at the scene said he and another neighbor used his pickup truck and a rope to pull the front door of the home off its hinges.

The American Red Cross was called to assist three adults and a child.

The state fire marshal has been called to investigate the cause.
