Fatal hit-and-run involving pedestrian closes lanes on Blanding Blvd. for hours

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian had all southbound lanes of Blanding Boulevard blocked, for nearly three hours Sunday morning.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Blanding between Morse Avenue and Townsend Road just before 5 a.m. leaving a pedestrian that was traveling down Blanding dead at the scene.

There is currently no information on the driver or vehicle involved.

FHP is investigating.
