Man dead, suspect sought in Eastside Jacksonville shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man is dead and police are working to track down the person who shot him Sunday evening on the Eastside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Henson, with the Sheriff’s Office, said police were called to the scene of A. Philip Randolph Boulevard and Pippin Street at about 6:10 p.m. They found a man who had been shot at least once.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment, but died from his injuries, Henson said. Investigators believe the shooter fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle, but a specific make and model were not provided.

The man who died was said to be between the ages of 30 and 40.
