1 person seriously injured in school bus crash on Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A traffic accident involving a school bus and a car happened Monday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

Crews said just before 3 p.m., they were working on an accident at the intersection of Blanding Boulevard and Townsend Road.

According to a Duval County School Board spokesperson, there were seven Westside High School students on board at the time of the crash.

JFRD said the driver of the car suffered serious injuries. No students were injured.

DCPS said a backup bus was called to take the remaining students who had not been released to their parents.
