JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 71-year-old man is dead after being hit by a pick-up truck in the crosswalk at Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Moncrief Road on Monday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The man walked into the crosswalk around 9:40 p.m. as the pick-up truck was driving toward it, FHP said.

He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The 44-year-old driver of the pick-up truck sustained no injuries from the crash, FHP said. He was wearing a seat belt.
