Off-duty officer finds 3 men shot on Westside after hearing gunshots: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three men were found shot on Jacksonville’s westside Tuesday afternoon after an off-duty officer responded to the scene, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The off-duty officer heard several gunshots around 4 p.m., according to JSO. He and other officers responded to a scene at a business parking lot on San Juan Avenue and Jammes Road and found three men suffering from gunshot wounds.

JSO said the shooter was wearing all-black and a ski mask.

One of the men died at the hospital. The other two are undergoing surgery. Their conditions are unknown.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives canvass the area for witnesses and surveillance video.
