Foul play suspected in death of woman found in Brentwood apartment

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville police suspect foul play is involved in the death of a woman found inside a Brentwood apartment on Wednesday morning.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the woman was found unresponsive around 10 a.m. at the Brentwood Lake Apartments on Flower Garden Lane. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue arrived and determined the woman was dead.

Police suspect foul play was involved in her death because they noticed signs of trauma. They are unsure if the trauma was self-inflicted or from someone else.

JSO is investigating and canvassing for witnesses and surveillance footage.

The cause of death is unknown and will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.
