JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a Monday afternoon shooting on Fifth Avenue in the Riverview neighborhood.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department transported an adult man to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was shot in the face.
JSO said the victim was traveling in a car with another man and woman to meet someone. JSO did not specify the reason for the meeting.
When they arrived at Fifth Avenue, multiple individuals were there with guns and started firing into the vehicle.
The victim attempted to flee and ended up crashing into a house. Residents came out to help them and called the police.
This is an ongoing investigation. According to JSO, no one else was injured.
