Armenian Delegation meets with women leaders in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Armenian Delegation has been in the River City for about a week, and the visit was packed with meetings with Northeast Florida leadership through the Congress’ Open World Program.

The Ponte Vedra Beach Rotary Club sponsored and hosted the group, where members got a chance to meet with other women in leadership including Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan, Jacksonville Beach Mayor Christine Hoffman and Neptune Beach Mayor Elaine Brown.

Raisa Aghabekyan focuses on boosting entrepreneurship among women and youth in Armenia. She shared how she’ll return what she learned in America to Armenia.

“The support they’re giving to entrepreneurs is a bit different from what we do in Armenia so I would like to take the American style to Armenia and see how it will work out there and what obstacles we will pass,” Aghabekyan said.

The delegation has two more days in Northeast Florida, where they’ll meet with leaders in the St. Augustine area.

They leave Jacksonville on Saturday.
