SUV crashes into concrete barrier, flips over on Arlington Expressway; 4 injured, 1 dead

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Wednesday morning single-vehicle crash on Arlington Expressway in downtown Jacksonville left four passengers injured, including three children, and one dead, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 28-year-old woman was driving west on Arlington Expy near N Liberty Street around 11:17 p.m. when she lost control of the sports utility vehicle, FHP said. It’s unclear what caused the woman to lose control.

The vehicle hit a concrete barrier and flipped multiple times, troopers said.

The 18-year-old passenger was thrown out of the SUV and taken to the hospital, where he died.

Three small children — ages 4, 3, and 1 year old — suffered minor injuries.

The driver suffered serious injuries.
