19 residents at River Pointe Apartments displaced after fire (WJXT)
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The American Red Cross assisted at least 19 displaced people after a fire at a Northside apartment complex on Harts Road.
The fire broke out at the Element at River Pointe Apartments on Thursday. It left a gaping hole in the roof of one of the buildings and eight units were affected by flames, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Red Cross helped the dislocated residents with a place to stay. The organization will also provide financial assistance for food, clothing, lodging and other essentials such as help replacing medications and mental health support.
