‘Make reading fun’: Jacksonville mayor kicks off River City Readers for summer
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In Jacksonville, the goal of getting residents to read for a million minutes doesn’t stop when school does.
Mayor Donna Deegan visited News4JAX Thursday to talk about the summer kick-off of River City Readers this Saturday.
River City Readers, which kicked off in January, it’s part of a year-long citywide challenge to improve literacy rates among school-aged children.
