Foul play suspected after 1 found dead in Brentwood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police said a person was found dead Monday afternoon at a property on West 41st Street in the Brentwood area.

Officers were called to the location just before 4:30 p.m. for a well-being check, which became a death investigation when they found the body.

“It appears to be an adult and foul play is suspected,” Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Reed said.

Reed did not indicate the victim’s gender or how they died.

One person was detained at the scene and was being questioned, Reed said.
