Woman crashes car into nail salon on Jacksonville’s Westside, says she ‘may have passed out’

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No one was injured Sunday morning when a car jumped a curb and crashed into the front of a nail salon in the Jacksonville Heights neighborhood.

Witnesses said the driver of the vehicle was pulling into a spot when she jumped the curb and smashed into the front of the NailPro Salon on 103rd Street, inside the Oak Hill Village Plaza.

Billy Starke said he was getting some ice from the Publix next door, and said he had to jump out of the way as the car came crashing into the salon.

“If I wouldn’t have moved, then I’d probably be inside with them,” Starke said.

News4JAX spoke with the driver of the car off-camera. She said she might have passed out and that she is OK but was going to the doctor to get checked on.

“She’s all right from what I hear and that’s all that matters. I’m still here and she’s all right,” Starke said.

The owners of the nail salon were not there when the accident happened, and the car had been removed by the time they got there.

The owners, who have owned the salon for 25 years, said they were shocked but did not want to comment further.

News4JAX was told that the driver of the car was cited for the crash.
