Florida Highway Patrol investigates I-95 shooting near MLK Jr. Expressway, 8th Street I-95 was temporarily closed for several hours Friday morning
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a shooting that occurred on Interstate 95 between the MLK Jr. Expressway and 8th Street Friday morning, according to a report.
According to authorities, a grey SUV was traveling southbound when someone in an unknown vehicle began shooting at it around 2:30 a.m. The vehicle then fled the scene, continuing south on I-95.
The SUV’s driver and passenger, the only occupants, were not struck by the gunfire.
I-95 was temporarily closed for several hours while authorities processed the scene. The interstate has since reopened.
