St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier set to reopen for fishing, sightseeing

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – The St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier in St. Augustine Beach will reopen for fishing and sightseeing on Sunday after a long closure for shoreline restoration.
Regular fees will resume for both activities, and annual passes purchased before the closure will be extended by seven months.

During the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers restoration project, the beach was extended so far that water no longer reached the pier, making fishing impossible.
With the project complete, tides once again bring water to the pier during high tide. However, the last 100 feet of the pier remain closed until further notice.
